Don’t Be That Guy

by Nate on November 8, 2010

Hey wassup!!

So I was just sitting here thinking about network marketing industry. And I was thinking about how much I loved being a part of a vehicle in which people help people reach their financial goals.

In this industry, the larger your organization is, the more potential you have to create a substantial income. So obviously, the goal of most marketers is to build a huge organization of people helping people. That is how the real money is created in network marketing.

And like most things in life, there is a right way to do things and a wrong way to do things. And when it comes to recruiting people into your organization, blatantly pitching your business is wrong way to go about it.

Don’t be that guy…

What creates a huge network marketing business (and more importantly keeps it together) are relationships. It’s the glue that keeps everybody intact. And it’s pretty difficult to establish a relationship with a prospect if all you’re doing is pitching them.

Don’t be that guy…

“People won’t care about what you know until they know they you care.” So while you’re throwing out all your greatest lines, your prospect is hearing “blah blah blah blah”. It’s like meeting a girl for the first time and getting down on one knee to propose to her!

Don’t be that guy…

Your primary goal when talking to a prospect is to develop a relationship. Find out things about them. Find out what makes them tick. Find out their needs and goals. And only then should you move unto to recommending your product, service, or business opportunity. Remember, people join people…not businesses.

So please….please don’t be that guy!

You are right! The best way to network is to work at building personal relationships. Get to know the people, send thank you cards, great to meet you cards. Go out of your way to make someone feel special.

Great post!
